Joe Ghost – Begin Again EP

Written by on April 28, 2018

Canadian producer Joe Ghost has slowly but surely established his presence in the industry over the past 5 years, dropping a hard-hitting Hardwell collaboration, a single on Tiesto‘s Musical Freedom imprint and clocking over 16 million plays on his Bassjackers & MOTI collaboration “On the Floor.” His debut EP, “Begin Again” finds him going rogue on his new home on Thrive Music. With two previously released tracks and 5 never before heard productions, Ghost’s first solo outing leans heavily into anthemic top lines, bombastic builds, and the tried-and-true vocal stutter but stays staunchly genre agnostic.

Opening with “Give Me The Night” featuring MLKA sets a tone of sonic exploration that continues throughout the EP. There isn’t much of a formula here and that’s refreshing, the EP dabbles in a number of worlds, combining and merging styles into a palette all its own. But it is Joee De Simone’s contribution on “Believe in You” that stands out amongst the pack as the most dancefloor friendly cut on this short play.
